Payment for cakes will need to be received in full 3 weeks before the cake is to be collected/delivered via bank transfer (details will be provided on the invoice), to secure that date, as there are only so many slots available each week. For a full refund the date must be cancelled 2 weeks prior to the cake due date. If the cake is cancelled after this point then no monies will be refunded.
We retain the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances which are beyond our control. If this were to occur, all monies will be refunded in full.
All Celebration cakes must be picked up from the Cake Studio in Broadstairs (address above), at a pre agreed date and time. The transportation of the cake is the client’s responsibility, all cakes will be boxed up securely, but we would recommend that a non-slip mat is purchased to put the cake box on in the car. We would not suggest that cakes should be transported on passengers laps or in the foot well of a car. The best position is in an empty boot with non-slip matting underneath. We would suggest driving carefully and slowly to ensure the cake reaches its destination in one piece.
Once the cake has been picked up from the Cake Studio it is your responsibility to ensure that the cake is delivered safely. All cakes will be photographed prior to leaving the cake studio (to be used for social media) to ensure that the cake that left the studio was not damaged in any way. Cakes must be kept away from a direct sunlight source, or heat source (such as radiators or fires), and must be kept in a cool room. Unless specifically told (e.g. for a buttercream cake) cakes must not be put into the fridge and must not be removed from the cake board that the cake has been placed on.
All cakes will be labelled with any allergens clearly marked. Please be aware that although ingredients such as nuts can be removed from the cakes, they are still used in the cake studio and we cannot guarantee that the cakes made are completely free from all nut traces.
Quote must be accepted in writing, if there are any errors or omissions please let us know as soon as possible, as last minute changes may not be possible.
Alterations – If you have any queries or need to make any changes to an order (after acceptance of the above quotation) please contact us immediately. Any alternation or amendments must be submitted in writing. We will review the alteration and let you know the effect on the above agreed price and any agreed timetable. It is the buyer’s responsibility to check any quotes and invoices thoroughly before making payment. We reserve the right to amend the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control compromise the final finished product (such as weather conditions). We will notify you of any changes but will endeavour to keep this to a minimum.
Non-Edible Ingredients and Decorations – Our cakes may contain non-edible ingredients or decorations, such as plastic dowels in tiered cakes or wires in sugar flowers. These will be detailed on the Cake box when you pick the cake up and also discussed with you, as these must be removed before serving or eating
COVID-19 – If your celebration is unable to go ahead due to government restrictions surrounding COVID-19 and you wish to postpone your order, both parties must agree to the new proposed date and any postponements will incur an administration fee of £25. We are unable to offer any refunds for cancellations under these circumstances. If we cannot continue to trade and are therefore unable to fulfil your order, we will work with you to try to agree a suitable alternative date for delivery. If you do not wish to accept our suggested alternative, then we will refund the full price to you.
Complaints – if you wish to make a complaint please do so in writing. Evidence of any faults, damages or discrepancies should be included. If there is a complaint on the taste of the cake, the cake (75% or more) must be returned within 48 hours to the cake studio for our own quality testing. Any refunds will be given at our discretion.
